Girls Empowerment Camp

The teen Girls' Empowerment Camp is a one-week day camp that takes place each summer. Led by an experienced youth facilitator, the Camp aims to support teen girls to access their individual and collective strengths in order to empower themselves and to help create social change.

Some of the topics covered during the camp include:

  • Self-awareness, self-respect
  • Assertiveness, boundary setting
  • Healthy relationships, consent
  • Body image, self-confidence
  • Cyberviolence and social media awareness
  • Media critique
  • Connection to the natural world, cooperation
  • Diversity, discrimination and privilege

These topics are explored through engaging activities such as discussion, games, art, video, music, drama, writing and an outdoor day trip.

The Camp mainly takes place at the North Shore Women's Centre (131 East 2nd St, North Vancouver). A morning snack, lunch and all materials are included.

The Camp is offered free of charge. Donations are always welcomed. Pre-registration and in-take are required. Please contact us at 604.984.6009 or for more information and registration.
