Income Tax Clinic

Filing support for low-income women with simple tax questions

Get Tax filing support at the NSWC

The NSWC operates a year-round program where low-income women can receive support filing personal income taxes and answering simple tax questions.

Run in conjunction with the Canada Revenue Agency's Community Volunteer Income Tax Program, this program is by appointment only. Appointments can be made year-round, and during tax season.

Clients with more complicated filings, such as those who are filing taxes for a deceased individual, or self-employed individuals, may not be eligible for this program, or may be asked to make an appointment outside of regular tax season.

Please note, the clinic cannot help with filings in the following cases:

  • Those with a personal income over $50,000

  • Those who are self-employed

  • Those who have income from rental properties

  • Those who are filing on behalf of a deceased person

Clients are asked to bring their T4, T5007, T4A (OAS), and other necessary tax forms (when applicable) to their appointment. Clients filing with renter's tax are required to bring their rental agreement, with verification of monthly rent, and their landlord's name.
