Separation Support Group
Find support as you consider, begin, and process separation
About the program
The North Shore Women's Centre hosts a 10-week Separation Support Group, for women who are in the process of ending a marriage or common law relationship or are considering separation.
This group offers an opportunity to gain legal and financial information, emotional support, and peer connection, and is facilitated by an experienced counsellor. Over the course of group meetings, there will be guest speakers including a financial planner and family lawyer to cover pertinent financial and family law information.
Sessions are closed group [no drop-ins] and the members will benefit the most with a commitment to the full session offered (10 weeks.)

For now, this group will be meeting online. Participants will need to have access to a computer and access to the Internet.

All programs and services at the NSWC are open to women and gender diverse individuals, including those who identify as trans, Two-Spirit, and/or non-binary. Priority is given to women living on the North Shore.
Please note that much of our material and resources will cover family law and financial matters that are relevant to North Shore Women and may not be as helpful to women in other jurisdictions.

When and Where:
Each group meets once per week for 10 weeks, typically on Wednesday evenings. Due to COVID-19, for now our group is meeting virtually via Zoom until it is safe to resume in-person meetings. Normally, the group meetings take place at the North Shore Women's Centre, with on site childcare offered for children ages 12 and under.
